The first weapon upgrade available from an outpost is the Stunner. Stunners have been used for centuries as a standard policing weapon. The weapon emits a shock that effectively impairs the abilities of the victim. In some cases stunners have been found to cause a state of unconciousness, but usually the effects are temporary. Stunners are considered relatively uneffective for anything other then riot control.
