The thirteenth weapon upgrade available from an outpost. The nail gun is actually a weapon derived from a tool of sorts used by humankind in the last millenia. It's purpose was to help in the building of homes and other creations. In those times, a method of compressed air would release a nail from the gun and into an item at high speed to fasten it to another.

Now, in current times, it has been largely developed. When it was found to be a formidable weapon in recent wartimes it was improved and works with electromagnetic releases that have increased the velocity of the released nail. In the past it was a formidable match for hard concrete and steel only, yet now it has even had reports of penetrating even advanced ion defences.
