Ascraeus Mons

Ascraeus Mons is the northernmost of three volcanoes (collectively known as Tharsis Montes) on the Tharsis bulge near the equator of the planet Mars. To its south is Pavonis Mons, and south of that is Arsia Mons. The largest volcano in the solar system, Olympus Mons, is to the northwest.
Ascraeus Mons is considered to be one of the tallest volcanoes on Mars. Its summit is about 11 miles (18 Km) above Mars' surface level (the level considered by scientists to be the 0 mile mark). It is 286 miles (460 Km) in diameter and was formed from relatively liquid lavas.
